In total, one resident and one staff member tested positive related to this outbreak. Sadly, one resident death was linked to the outbreak, Island Health confirmed.

Mount St. Mary Hospital long-term care home is a not-for-profit long-term care home owned and operated by the Marie Esther Society.

“The team at Mount St. Mary is to be commended for their exceptional work ensuring the outbreak did not spread further and continuing to provide high-quality care under challenging circumstances,” Island Health said.

With the outbreak over, the hospital can now go back to allowing social visits, transfers and admissions.
