Harry Leong was the owner of Harry’s Flowers, located at 1817 Oak Bay Ave. The family-owned and operated business has been open since 1987.

Leong’s obituary says he passed away on Sept. 7, 2023 with all three generations of his family by his side. He was born in Zhongshan, China in 1929 and came to Canada in 1950. Leong had a wife, Sau Lan, who he was married to for 46 years before she died in 1993.

Before her death, the couple owned the flower shop together, which has been loved by Victoria residents for decades.

“Harry loved singing, eating, cooking, fishing, and an occasional trip to the casino. His good looks and charming smile were recognized in every eating establishment in Victoria,” his family writes in
