UPDATE: Victoria General Hospital given the all clear after suspicious package found

(Update: 3:30 pm): Police have given the all clear for Victoria General Hospital after a suspicious package was discovered at the building.

The RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit dismantled the package and determined it was not an explosive.

Hospital operations have gone back to normal.

Officers are dealing with a suspicious package at Victoria General Hospital this afternoon.

According to the West Shore RCMP, officers are on scene.

Hospital operations are not suspended, but people are being asked to use the north entrance next to the Emergency Department.

People are asked to avoid the south side of the building.
