It’s looking like a snow day in Greater Victoria, as people are being told to avoid nonessential travel.
You might not have much luck driving into the office, catching a bus or getting a flight today as last night’s winter storm blew through the region.

Greater Victoria was forecasted to get 10 to 15 cm of snow last night and this morning. The Malahat was expected to get up to 20 cm.
It looks like we got more than expected, according to meteorologists. We are up to a widespread 30 cm, with an estimated 5 to 10 cm more to come this morning.

BC Transit has cancelled all bus service in Victoria today due to the heavy snowfall. Service was also suspended in the Cowichan Valley and the Central Fraser Valley.
The Victoria International Airport said this morning that they are anticipating delays and cancellations today due to conditions.
Passengers are being advised to check with their airline for flight information and to allow extra time to get to the airport.
Other cancellations today include curb-side recycling collection, RRU, Camosun and UVic campuses, as well as numerous BC Ferries sailing cancellations.

Meanwhile, city crews are working hard to clear roads this morning.
The VicPD said the large dump of snow has led to poor driving conditions, and if you can stay home you should.
