VIDEO: Mixed reaction to City's roll out of cannabis locations

The City of Kelowna gave the nod to seven cannabis sales applications earlier this week. It's a big milestone. But public reaction is mixed.

Council agreed upon seven locations out of a total of 41 applications from the business community as of last November.

Some say it's taken far too long, some say the process was too rigorous; that the free market should decide how many shops there should be. Others believe these stores very presence sends the wrong message to young people wherever we allow them.

The locations are approved by the city, but it's the province that has the final say and that may take a while. The Kelowna applications go to the back of a line of 320 under consideration at the provincial level.
