Royals blanked by the Giants

The Victoria Royals were shutout on Thursday night by the Vancouver Giants 4-0. The game was scoreless through 20 minutes, but Vancouver broke it open in the second scoring three times. Goaltender Drew Sim had the shutout and picked up an assist on the Giants’ second goal.

Forward Brayden Tracey had his seven-game point streak snapped tonight. He had registered at least a point in his previous seven games. During that period, he had five goals and six assists for 11 points.

Rookie forward Brayden Schuurman is tied for the lead in rookie scoring in the BC Division with five points (3g-2a). He is joined by first year blueliner Gannon Laroque (1g-3a) who is tied for third place in BC Division rookie scoring and is also second in scoring by freshman defensemen within the division.
