The autumnal equinox is this Monday, meaning fans of the season will officially have free reign to load up on everything pumpkin spiced.
On September 23, fall begins in the Northern Hemisphere and spring begins in the Southern Hemisphere.
According to the Farmer’s Almanac, on the equinox, day and night are roughly equal in length, as the sun crosses the equator.
After the autumnal equinox, the sun rises later and nightfall comes sooner. This ends with the December solstice, when the days start to grow longer and the nights are shorter.
So, pull out your flannels and cable knit sweaters, because it’s almost time to start planning your trip to the corn maze or the pumpkin patch.
And of course, one of the most looked forward to thing about fall is the beautiful foliage.
