Strong winds are on the way for Greater Victoria tonight.
Environment Canada is predicting the region could see southeast winds of 70 km/h, gusting to 90.
The wind warning also includes the Southern Gulf Islands.
“A cold front will track across Vancouver Island tonight,” the warning says.
“Ahead of the front, strong southeast winds will develop over Greater Victoria and Southern Gulf Islands late this evening. The strongest winds are expected over eastern sections of the city near Haro Strait and Southern Gulf Islands.”
The wind should ease and shift early Thursday morning.
People are asked to be careful, as high winds can toss loose objects and cause tree branches to break.
