Victoria Grizzlies goaltender Cole Schwebius has committed to his college hockey for the UBC Thunderbirds for the upcoming 2022-2023 USPORTS season.
The Kelowna, BC product spent the 2021-2022 season with the Grizzlies, amassing a record of 11-11, a .903 save percentage and a 3.32 goals against average in 22 appearances.
Prior to his time in Victoria, Schwebius spent three seasons in the WHL, playing one year for the Seattle Thunderbirds in 2018-2019, then for two seasons with the Kelowna Rockets from 2019 to 2021 before being acquired by the Grizzlies prior to the 2021-2022 season.
He will now man the crease for one of the top men’s university hockey programs in the country at UBC. Their season is set to begin Sept. 30th against the University of Calgary Dinos in Vancouver.
